Next time you blow your shirt during a debate trying to convince somebody you are correct, here is something which will make you even madder: You may not be as smart as you might think.
At least that is the finding of brand new psychology study printed in the journal Intelligence. The research determined that individuals that are easily angered tend to consider these more intelligent than they really are.
“I had been wondering if individuals with high grade anger could attest a bias in understanding of the skills and proficiency,” Marcin Zajenkowski, a faculty member in the University of Warsaw plus a a co-author of this analysis, informed PsyPost. “Especially, I tested whether anger contributes to positive intellect illusion.”
Trait anger is understood to be a chronic personality trait which makes people more prone to become mad over the smallest things. Individuals with attribute anger often have plenty of social conflicts, problems on the job and wellness problems, based on Anger Management for Dummies.
Zajenkowski along with his co-author, Gilles Gignac of this University of Western Australia at Perth, were interested in Taking a Look at the connection between narcissism, neuroticism and anger.
“People with high quality anger have a inclination to overestimate their abilities, i.e. believing they are more intelligent than they really are; this component of anger is connected with narcissistic illusions,” Zajenkowski explained.
